When are Daffy Apple Petite Caramel Apples in season?

Daffy Apple Petite Caramel Apples are produced from August until late November.  Every year we begin taking orders for Petite Caramel Apples in July and we begin producing Petite Caramel Apples in August.  Local customers in the Denver Metro Area may contact us to discuss order pick-up starting in August.  We will not ship Petite Caramel Apples until late September due to temperatures and the perishable nature of Petite Caramel Apples.  Please review the Petite Caramel Apple Ordering Deadlines & Information page for further information.  We also produce a limited number of orders in April each year.  Please contact us about spring orders.

When should I place my order for . . .

. . . Petite Caramel Apples?

Daffy Apple begins taking orders for Petite Caramel Apples for the fall season in July.  We suggest orders be placed 3-4 weeks in advance of your event date.  Please remember to list your event date in the Order Notes or Item Notes field at checkout.  Your order will be scheduled to arrive 2-3 days prior to the event date listed on your order.  Due to the perishable nature of Petite Caramel Apples, we cannot schedule them to arrive more than a few days before the event date.  We determine the best ship date based on the location and event date.  An email will be sent with the event date, ship date and arrival date once the order has been scheduled for shipment.  If a Petite Caramel Apple order is placed after the ordering deadline a cancellation fee will apply.  Shipping dates vary due to temperatures, as Petite Caramel Apples are heat and humidity sensitive.  We do not recommend Petite Caramel Apples be shipped to a high humidity location or where temperatures are above 85ºF.  Please review our Petite Caramel Apple Ordering Deadlines & Information page for more information on ordering and shipping timelines.  If an order is placed and must be cancelled due to heat a 10% cancellation fee will be subtracted from the refund amount.  Please review our Terms & Conditions: Daffy Apple Cancellation & Return Policy page for more information on cancellations and refunds.

I would like to try Daffy Apple Petite Caramel Apples before I place a large order, do you have samples?

Unfortunately, we are unable to ship free samples.  However we do have a Traditional Caramel Apple Sample Pack and a Gourmet Caramel Apple Sample Pack available for purchase.  Sample packs, like Petite Caramel Apples, are seasonal and can only be shipped when Petite Caramel Apples are in season.  Daffy Apple Caramel Apple Kits and Bulk Caramel ship year round, if you would like to try our caramel.

What do the single-pack and 3-pack packages look like?

Daffy Apple Petite Caramel Apples are packaged in either a single-pack or a 3-pack retail package.  If you are ordering for an event and repackaging Petite Caramel Apples, we recommend ordering 3-packs so there will be less packaging to open.

Do you offer bulk or discount pricing if I order several cases?

Daffy Apple is already able to discount our Petite Caramel Apples by selling them in cases of 24.  The listed online pricing for each case of 24 is the bulk or discounted price.  If you are ordering 30 or more cases of 24 (720+ Petite Caramel Apples) please contact us about alternative shipping methods before placing your order.

I didn’t order enough!  Can I add to my order? 

The best way to add to your order is to place a second order online.  Include your original order number and event date in the Order Notes field as well as any additional information that might be helpful to us in processing your order.

I ordered too much!  Can I reduce my order?

What is Daffy Apple's return policy? 

Daffy Apple does not accept any returns for perishable products (all food products.)  Returns of any products, perishable or nonperishable, must be approved by a Daffy Apple representative before an item can be shipped back.  A refund will not be issued if the return was not approved before the item was shipped back.  There are no exceptions.  Shipping will not be refunded.  Please review our Terms & Conditions: Daffy Apple Cancellation & Return Policy page for more information on cancellations and refunds.

How are Daffy Apple products shipped?

I am trying to create an account and my state (Florida/Arizona/Hawaii/Alaska) is not listed.  What do I do?

Daffy Apple cannot ship Petite Caramel Apples to Florida, Arizona, Hawaii, or Alaska.  If you are ordering other products from our website, please contact us by phone to place your order.  If your billing address is in one of these states, but your order will be delivered to a state that we can ship to, please contact us by phone to place your order.

How much does shipping cost? 

Some items on the Daffy Apple website have a Free UPS Ground Shipping logo like the one listed below.  Some restrictions apply.  Items without this logo have a flat rate per item shipping cost.  This shipping cost is for standard UPS Ground shipping and depends on the weight of the item.  The easiest way to find out the shipping cost of a specific item is to add the item to your cart, go to your cart, click on the check out button and the shipping price will be listed beside the option for UPS Ground Shipping.  If you are interested in expedited shipping, please contact us for a quote.

 






Do you ship to P.O. Boxes, Canada, Puerto Rico, etc?

Daffy Apple is unable to ship any products to P.O. Boxes, Military A.P.O & F.P.O Boxes, Canada, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, or any location outside of the United States.

I live in Colorado.  Can I pick up my order?

Yes!  If you are interested in placing an order for pick-up, please contact us.

Can I pay with my American Express card?

Yes!  However, your order must be placed through the Google Checkout option.  Once you are in your shopping cart, click on the Google Checkout button at the top of the screen.

When will my credit card be charged?

Your credit card will be charged at the time you place your order.

I placed an order and now I have multiple charges on my credit card.  Why did I get charged more than once?

This generally happens when an error occurred while placing your order.  Your credit card was authorized to make the purchase, but your order did not go through due to incorrect billing address, incomplete information, etc.  These transactions are pending charges and have been subtracted from your available credit, but have not yet processed.  If the extra charges are pending charges, they will be cancelled by your bank and disappear in 3-5 business days.  Please contact us if the charges are not still in a pending status or are not cancelled in 3-5 business days.

What is crunch topping?

Daffy Apple crunch topping is a sweet corn cereal based topping.  It is our secret recipe topping that has been a top seller for over 50 years!  It does not contain nuts and has a chewy, crunchy texture.

What is Daffy Apple Red Candy Caramel?

Daffy Apple Red Candy Caramel is a caramel that is soft and red in color.  It is very similar to our traditional caramel, only slightly sweeter.  Daffy Apple Red Candy Caramel does not harden like a candy coating, it stays soft and easy to eat like our traditional caramel. 

Does Daffy Apple sell a plain caramel apple?

Daffy Apple does not sell a plain caramel apple without topping because our caramel stays soft at room temperature.  This makes it deliciously easy to eat, however it also makes it stick to all kinds of packaging.

Can I buy a Daffy Apple Caramel Apple Kit and make a plain caramel apple?

Sure!  Daffy Apple Caramel Apple Kits come with a container of caramel, caramel apple sticks and a topping.  We also sell Daffy Apple Caramel, Daffy Apple Red Candy Caramel and caramel apple sticks separately.  We do not recommend wrapping plain caramel apples, caramel apples without topping, in cellophane or any other wrapper, as the caramel will stick to the wrapping.

How long do caramel apples stay fresh?  Do caramel apples need to be refrigerated?

Daffy Apple Petite Caramel Apples have a two week shelf life.  They will last a bit longer if they are refrigerated.  We recommend refrigerating Petite Caramel Apples upon arrival to maximize freshness and shelf life, although refrigeration is not absolutely necessary.  It is best to keep Petite Caramel Apples out of direct sunlight and in a cool space with low humidity.  Petite Caramel Apples should never be frozen.  A “Best By” date should be printed on each package or case.  Any transit time should be included in the two week shelf life time frame.

Are Daffy Apple Petite Caramel Apples gluten-free?  Is Daffy Apple Caramel gluten-free?

No.  Unfortunately, Daffy Apple Caramel and Red Candy Caramel are not gluten-free.  They contain the following allergens: wheat, milk, and soy.

Can I purchase Daffy Apple Petite Caramels Apples without nuts?

Absolutely!  We offer crunch, which does not include nuts, and sprinkle toppings.  Though we follow strict allergen guidelines when processing Petite Caramel Apples, please be aware that all Daffy Apple products are produced in a facility that also handles peanuts and tree nuts.

Are Daffy Apple Petite Caramel Apples kosher?  Is Daffy Apple Caramel kosher?

Although certain ingredients in Daffy Apple Caramel are kosher, the finished Daffy Apple Caramel and Red Candy Caramel are not kosher.

How many caramel apples can I make using the bulk caramel containers?

20 oz tub – 15 apples

6.5 lb tub – 50 apples

22 lb bucket – 200 apples

5 gallon bucket (58 lbs) – 500-600 apples

These are estimates according to petite apple size.  Daffy Apple uses apples that have a net weight of 3 ounces and are generally about 2 ¼ to 2 ½ inches in diameter.  The bagged apples in the produce section of the grocery store are usually about this size.  If you use larger apples, you will need more caramel.
